The Jazz Choir's
Our Jazz Choirs had very humble beginnings. Back in 2013 I thought it was about time to start the Choir I had always dreamed of starting. So Godalming Jazz Choir was born. It did help that I was getting married the following April and I wanted to get a choir together to sing me down the aisle.
I'm Phoebe and I lead the choirs and write the arrangements for all the songs. I run A Touch Of Musicality, music school in Godalming and teach singing, along with others things. www.atouchofmusicality.com
Running these choirs is a passion of mine and it brings me such joy to see the enjoyment and progress of all the members.
We now have GJC (Godalming Jazz Choir, GuJC (Guildford Jazz Choir) and coming soon FJC (Farncombe Jazz Choir). Along with our youth choir for 11-18's, GcYc.
Our choirs are families, they are full of people from all walks of life and join together to sing in harmony. Its very important for me to keep the family and friendly vibe within the choirs so we build our own little community.
We have always encouraged people of all ages and abilities into the choirs and try and get people singing songs they never thought they would. It doesn't matter how much prior experience you've had singing, come along and try out a session!
We sing a mixture of accompanied and a cappella music. Whilst our main focus is jazz we do also sing a wide repertoire of pop and other genres.
We perform around the local area and have performed at some incredible venues and lots of wonderful weddings.
We limit our choirs to 50 members so its not too big and not too small but just right!
For only £60 a term, its great fun & great value!
